Dynamics 365 Business Central achieves an impressive 250% growth

During the recent virtual DIRECTIONS4PARTNERS event for Microsoft Dynamics 365 partners in Europe, Middle East and Africa, Microsoft released new data on the growth of Dynamics 365 Business Central , its new cloud ERP solution for SMEs. And there was every reason for satisfaction! Indeed, the number of enterprises using Business Central on a daily basis grew by 250 per cent compared to a year ago. An impressive result that gives the market, customers, partners and Microsoft the confidence for a promising future.

At the 2019 DIRECTIONS event in Vienna, Microsoft reported that more than 4,000 organisations around the world were using Dynamics 365 Business Central. At that time, a very decent number when you consider that existing Microsoft Dynamics NAV partners had to transform to become 'market ready' for the cloud. Just think of the technical migration of their add-on solutions to the new and highly modernised development environment and the training of all employees.

This year, Mike Morton, Microsoft's general manager for Dynamics 365 Business Central, could proudly share further growth to more than 10,000 end customers. So that means a growth of over 6,000 new customers in one year. Or more than 500 per month. All these organisations rely on this complete SaaS solution as the source for their business decisions. Ranging from many small operational decisions to major strategic decisions with far-reaching consequences. Many of these customers also use the solution as the basis for their digital transformation processes.

Microsoft not only reported growth in the number of customers. The number of actively selling Dynamics 365 BC partners also experienced significant growth. That number rose from 750 to 2,200 partners in a year, collectively serving customers in 100 countries worldwide. This number is expected to grow further as a group of traditional Dynamics NAV partners are still on their way to this new solution and the cloud. Tangible result is the growth in the number of certified apps on AppSource - Microsoft's global app store for Business Central. More than 1,000 of these apps have now been certified, published and ready for use.

Morton shared some other interesting insights with the partner community. One is customer size. While Dynamics 365 Business Central focuses unrelenting on organisations of 10 to 250 employees, the largest BC customer currently appears to have more than 1,000 named users. While the smallest clients have less than 5 named users. he majority of customers have between 20 and 40 named users.

Microsoft has a clear goal in mind for the near future. The company is committed to making Business Central the world's best ERP system for SMEs. In this regard, one of the focus areas for Microsoft's development department is further streamlining the implementation - the so-called 'onboarding process'. Microsoft aims to make this process both easier, faster and also cheaper.

This improved onboarding combined with the rapidly growing number of actively selling partners and the further expansion of available apps in AppSource are the pillars underpinning further rapid growth in the number of Dynamics 365 Business Central customers in the near future.er een verdere snelle groei van het aantal Dynamics 365 Business Central klanten in de nabije toekomst.
